Frequently Asked Questions Q: What makes Gripits Drywall Anchors phenomenal? A: Gripit drywall fixings hold up to 205lbs with no need for battens, wall modifications or compromises which saves time, money, and labour. The gripping wings allow Gripit to be installed in walls with extremely limited cavity space. All Gripits are designed to be completely removable and reusable. Q: How/why is a Gripit so strong? A: The incredible loading capabilities of Gripit are derived from a unique combination of mechanical innovation and physical engineering. Each component is designed to work in harmony to create an extremely effective drywall anchoring device. The Gripit system is not based upon anchorage to a single contact point which tends to cause anchors to tear loose under stress. Gripit uses a unique three-way system of multiple contact points in combination to disperse load and lock onto drywall. Each Gripit component is precision moulded and tested to ensure they always deliver ultimate performance. Q: What equipment do I need to install a Gripit and how complicated is it to use? A: Installing Gripit is quick and simple. There are 3 easy steps. All you need is a drill (with the correct size drill bit – supplied), a hammer and a screwdriver. Simply drill your hole once you have decided on the location of your fixings, tap the Gripit into the hole with your hammer, then open the wings with your flat head screwdriver using the central slot. Your Gripit is now secure and safe for you to hang your chosen item onto the wall using the screws/bolts provided. Q: It seems like a large hole to drill if I decide to use a Gripit? A: With the majority of installations, you won’t be able to see the Gripit once it is fitted. For example, if you are hanging a cabinet, TV or mirror, the bracket or piece of furniture will hide the fixing itself, so this need not be a problem. In addition to the wings, Gripit actually gains a lot of its strength from the large surface area that is in contact with the drywall. The Gripit becomes an integral part of the drywall. If you decide to remove Gripit at a later date, you will be left with a hole in the wall as you would with any other type of drywall fixing. We would advise you fill the hole as you would with any fixing. ULTRA STRONG GRIP Gripit Drywall Anchors use their uniquely designed, patented, slim gripping wings to fold out in the gap behind drywall, plasterboard or any hollow wall, and create a vice-like grip that distributes weight more effectively over a larger surface area than conventional plugs or wall anchor. Feel safe in the knowledge that your hanging heavy items will remain sturdy thanks to Gripit's heavy duty wall anchors.

MULTI-USE DESIGN Gripit Yellow dry wall anchors and screws kit allows you to safely secure items up to 130 lbs (59 kg) and are perfectly designed to install and hold heavy items including blinds, ceiling and wall light fittings, picture frames and smart home devices. Gripit's wall anchors for drywall are extremely strong!

DRILL, TAP + TURN Suitable for use in 3/8” to 5/8” (9.5 to 15mm) thick wall anchors, Gripit heavy duty drywall anchors are quick and easy to install; simply mark the location, drill the hole using the recommended size flat bit, tap in the Gripit and with a simple twist clockwise, the Gripit wings spread behind the board and mission accomplished - you are now ready to secure your bracket, installation plate or supporting frame. The perfect screws and anchors.

ADJUSTABLE + REUSABLE It’s our mission at Gripit to make anchoring heavy objects to drywall as easy as possible. Designed in the UK and made from high-industrial grade, ultra-strong polyacetal, Gripit wall anchors are lightweight, easy to remove with an anticlockwise twist to retract the wings, completely reusable and can fix almost anything to plasterboard, making them the perfect solution to an enduring problem.

SAFETY WARNING Do not install on damp or damaged drywall. Any brackets used should be flush against the wall. Not suitable for cantilever/full motion TV brackets or any object with a continuous moving, rotating or vibrating motion. Maximum weight shown indicates max sheer load (suspended from a fixing, mounted in a vertical wall with a load or weight attached to that fixing and acting vertically downwards) on 5/8” (15mm) drywall. Independently tested using 5/8” (15mm) drywall.

These worked about as good as I hoped. It made really good sense to me that the "wings" that open on the back side are flat and wide, giving it more surface area to grip compared to the old style drywall anchors that tend to pinch into the wall and cause a point of failure by getting the crack started - and, most people tighten them too much!As an experienced do-it-yourself guy, the MOST IMPORTANT thing to say is that the drywall anchor is only as strong as your DRYWALL!!! And, you can not defy the laws of physics (leverage) with a better drywall anchor. So here is some common sense info for you . . .Hanging something on drywall with a downward force is not the same as PULLING the drywall, by way of leverage. If you are looking to hang a TV flat on your wall, this WILL WORK. But I noticed a couple other reviewers tried to use this to mount a "telescoping" tv mount, you know, the ones were you can pull the tv 2 feet away and tilt it or turn it in any direction. Please understand that when fully extended, the weight of your tv is applying TREMENDOUS leverage which is essentially applying a pulling force on the upper mounting screws. That type of TV mount needs to be mounted into a beam - at least ONE screw needs to hit a beam, and then these anchors can work fine to augment the strength. The other reviewers who complained about this product not working. . . Look closely in their photos, and you can see that it is the WALL that failed, not the anchors. These anchors work great, but they can not help you break the laws of physics and common sense. So if you can't find at least one beam to screw into, simply don't install one of those telescoping mounts, or, avoid pulling it out all of the way.I found the installation quite simple and easy, the included drill bit is of course the right size, and the mounts screw in quite easily. Note that you do NOT need to over-tighten the wings, just a simple quarter turn is all you need in order to open the wings in the back. Also, do not over-tighten the screw that goes in the middle, because that's how you damage the drywall is by over-tightening.The only negative to using this product is that it certainly will leave a 25mm/1" hole behind to patch if you ever want to undo this. While I feel that these are extremely over priced at $12 for just 4 mounts, considering the TV is worth $2,000, it isn't worth trying to save a few bucks and honestly these are the best drywall anchors I have found for this purpose.
